I entered the online ballot for FLM yesterday.
I am concerned that a lot of people who don't really want a place will be entering the ballot online because they don't take any credit card details and it's so easy just to fill in a form with your name and address on.
This was demonstrated today when our fundraiser got an email from a potential "runner" with an email address that was info@anotherdisabledcharity.org who do suspiciously similar things to us. I am mad about this, because there are people applying for ballot places who DON'T REALLY WANT THEM. And that isn't fair on a million levels. What if that guy gets a place? Will he feel like he should start training and running even though he doesn't really want to? And if he gets a place and begrudgingly runs, then he's stealing it from someone who really does want a place and will probably be training for FLM anyway and will have to raise thousands of pounds for a random charity just so they CAN run.
Grrrr.
